Hunter Cooked Solutions is a small home-based business that specializes in home cooked sweet short breads, pickles, pies, and canned goods.
Hunter Cooked Solutions came to be while my husband and I were helping out the Wendell, NC Chamber of Commerce at the newly birthed Wendell Farmers Market, which started in 2009.
I remember helping my mother can vegetables from our garden when I was a child. You’ve never worked until you have had the privilege of snapping a bushel of green beans mostly by yourself because your siblings got bored and left 5 minutes into the process. I felt sorry for my mother so I would stay in the hot kitchen and help while my sisters ran off to play.
That summer we had an abundant crop. I canned and processed veggies like I normally did. But my husband says we had enough to feed a small army. So I thought since we were volunteering at the market, why not see if they would sell. And to my surprise they do.
Some of the recipes are many, many years old. Some are from my mother, some are from my mother-in-law, and some are from dear friends.
Our son Josiah was married on February 14, 2010 to a wonderful woman named Brandy. She is an asset to our family and now has joined Beth with Hunter Cooked Solutions. She brings expertise in jams, jellies and cake decorating. Welcome Brandy!!!
